WHY WE BELIEVE IN SENDING KIDS TO CAMP

Role Models

Our size allows us to intentionally select the leaders who will be investing in your students. Many of the leaders will become life long support to your camper

Courage and Confidence

With activities that challenge campers to grow in their courage and confidence, our camps teach kids of all ages to be leaders in their schools and communities

Fun

We don't mean to sound cliche, but camp is fun!
We design our programs so that campers will find ways to enjoy themselves and be who they are created to be in Christ

Faith

Being a private Christian based camp, we are able to freely teach our campers biblical principles that will connect them to a closer personal relationship with their Creator

Lifelong Relationships

For generations Church of God youth camps have aided in  establishing friendships that last a lifetime. Many will become colleagues in ministry one day, and will likely reminisce on past camp experiences

Distinctively Pentecostal

We stay true to our Pentecostal DNA and expect our students to experience the power of the Holy Spirit. We never shy away from movements of the Spirit in our service, as it is an expectation

CAMP MISSIONS PARTNER

This year, we are excited to partner with God’s Pit Crew as our camp mission's focus.

God’s Pit Crew is a faith-based disaster relief ministry that responds to people and communities impacted by natural disasters. Through emergency supplies, relief efforts, Blessing Buckets, and long-term rebuilding projects, they bring practical help and the hope of Jesus to families facing some of the hardest moments of their lives.

This partnership is especially meaningful because God’s Pit Crew has been serving right here in Western North Carolina following the recent flooding. They have now completed their 51st home rebuild in Western North Carolina, helping families regain stability, hope, and a place to call home.

During camp, we will host a live camp fundraiser to support the ongoing work of God’s Pit Crew. This fundraiser will serve as our missions offering, but we are encouraging campers to raise money before camp begins with the help of parents, family members, friends, and churches.

This allows students to participate in giving without feeling like they have to spend the money they brought for snacks, merch, or the camp store.

To make giving fun and connected to camp, every dollar raised will also count toward camp competition points:
Every $1 raised = 1 point for their team and super cabin.

Our goal is to teach students that generosity is part of worship.
Camp is not only about what God does in us, but also what He wants to do through us.

Together, we can help bring hope, healing, and restoration to families who are still rebuilding.

What should my camper bring?
Make sure to access our "What to bring list" from above
Can my camper bring a phone?
Campers are permitted to bring cell phones to camp; however, they assume full responsibility for their device while attending. There will be designated times and specific areas on campus where cell phone use is prohibited. Additionally, any camper who takes inappropriate photos of another camper or staff member and shares them publicly will immediately face dismissal from camp. Additionally, if any laws are violated, the appropriate authorities will be notified. Should a camper violate this policy, camp staff may confiscate the phone until the conclusion of camp.
How are medications handled?
All necessary medications must be brought to camp in their original containers. These medications will be securely stored at the medical station and administered from there. Please note that, by law, prescription medications can only be given as directed by a physician.
Can parents visit during camp?
To ensure the safety of both campers and staff, WNCCOG Youth Camp has implemented the following safety policy: No visitors will be permitted without prior authorization from the state youth director.
What happens if my camper breaks camp rules?
If a camper violates camp rules or disobeys leaders and is dismissed early, the parent is responsible for retrieving their child from the property immediately. In cases where a child comes to camp with a group and their parents are unable or unwilling to pick them up, it is the responsibility of the local pastor or youth pastor/leader to arrange for the child's immediate retrieval from camp.

Code of Conduct

1. All Campers will be under the supervision of their Cabin Leader at all times and remain in designated student areas only.

2. Cell phones are allowed only in designated areas and at designated times. The Church of God is not responsible for cell phones, iPads, cameras, MP3 players, or other electronic devices brought to camp.
- Any of the above items brought to camp are brought at the full risk of the camper.

3. Alcohol, tobacco, e-cigarettes/vaping devices, illegal drugs, and pornography are strictly prohibited. All medication brought to camp must be left with the camp medical personnel.

4. No fireworks, lighters, firearms, knives, items capable of projecting laser light, or other weapons are allowed.

5. Violence in all forms is prohibited at the WNC Church of God Youth Camps.

6. All campers are expected to attend all camp activities unless excused by the Head Cabin Leader.

7. All campers and workers must adhere to the dress code. Generally, clothing deemed immodest or inappropriate for particular activities will not be allowed at camp. The following guidelines should be observed:

RECREATION: Bring play clothes (no tank tops, strapless tops or halter tops — shorts of modest length are allowed); swimsuit and cover-up (girls are encouraged to wear one-piece suits); and athletic shoes.

FOR EVENING WORSHIP (HS & MS Camps Only):
Clothing considered appropriate for Sunday evening and/or Wednesday worship/youth group should be worn to youth camp evening worship. This honors God by presenting oneself before him as prepared for worship.

8. Everyone at camp will be expected to help keep the grounds and facilities clean.
- Dorm rooms will be inspected daily.

9. All automobiles are to remain parked until camp is dismissed. No one may leave the grounds without special permission from the Camp Director. This includes campers and staff.

10. No camper is to be out of his/her dorm after “lights out” or before “rise & shine.”

(Any breach of proper conduct or disregard of camp rules will result in disciplinary action. Serious or repeated infractions will result in dismissal from camp.)
